Grupo Medusa - 1983 - Ferrovias

[English] The Medusa Group was one of the most creative formations of Brazilian instrumental music in the 1980s, with an excellent set of musicians who knew how to use brilliantly elements of Brazilian music, with lots of creativity and inventiveness. Some sound marks of this band were the sound of fretless bass of Claudio Bertrame, the rhythmic accuracy of Chico Medori on samba feel, the cuíca and effects of Theo da Cuíca, and the great improvisations from Olmir Stocker and Amilson Godoy. During the existence of band only two albuns were produced, and LP Ferrovias (Railways) is the second on. Deserve in this disc highlights the rare dialogue between a piano and cuíca that is performed on the song "Abuda-Lê", and the introduction of the song "Ferrovias" with the simulation of an train leaving the station using effects of percussion and band with the tambourim rhythm section.
