Olivier Ker Ourio & Danyel Waro - 2003 - Sominnkér

[English] In this post a good work of ethno jazz released in 2003 the album "Sominnkér" (Path of the Heart) of two important musicians of the Reunion Island, the harmonic player Olivier Ker Ourio and singer and percussionist Danyel Waro. Very well received by the specialized press of the time, the album resulted in an exotic sound played by a jazz quartet with percussion and voices producing a fusion of Creole Maloya Music Reunion Island and the contemporary jazz. This one dialogue caught between jazz and regional traditions once again shows the possibilities and ways seconded by contemorânea music. The Reunion Island is a French territory on Indian Ocean east of Madagascaro. Olivier Ker Ourio is born in Paris but spent her childhood in Reunion Island until his majority when he returned to France and intensified his musical studies and developed his career. Danyel Waro is a legendary singer maloya born on the island, active since the early 80's considered primarily responsible for expansção rhythm and corners of maloias tradition around the world, he sings mainly in Creole rather than French, with a powerful and loud, uses instruments created by himself, in his poems sing the problems of contemporary Réunion as racism, the domain of French culture over the criole seen as inferior language, but also about work, love and death. The record result is a strong sound, played by a group that believes in this offering and touching with meshing and intensity.
