[Português] Diego El Cigala é um conhecido cantor flamenco espanhol que neste trabalho dedicou-se em homenagear o cancioneiro popular argentino, interpretando temas de importantes compositores como Homero e Virgilio Expósito, Atahualpa Yupanqui e Carlos Gardel entre outros. Excelente cantor, teve o acompanhamento de um ótimo grupo de músicos, assim como a guitarra acústica de Diego García que proporcionou uma sonoridade sofisticada e uma roupagem mais atual aos clássicos sul americanos. 

[English] Diego El Cigala is a known Spanish flamenco singer and this work was dedicated in honor of the Argentine popular music, playing themes of importants composers as Homero and Virgil Exposito, Atahualpa Yupanqui and Carlos Gardel between others. Great singer had the company of a great group of musicians as well as the acoustic guitar of Diego Garcia which provided a sophisticated sound and a more current guise to South American classics.

Laércio de Freitas - 1980 - São Paulo no Balanço do Choro

[Português] Laércio de Freitas é pianista, tecladista, maestro e compositor natural de Campinas, Estado de São Paulo. Músico de grande importância no cenário brasileiro, atuante desde o início dos anos de 1960, é mais reconhecido pelo seu talento como arranjador e maestro de inúmeros projetos e artistas nacionais. O volume da produção de discos próprios de Laércio não é tão expressivo, foram cinco álbuns entre os anos de 1972 e 2006. Entre estes, merece destaque o disco de choro "São Paulo no Balanço do Choro" de 1980 postado neste artigo. É um original LP que o blogger guarda com muito carinho em sua coleção particular, disco totalmente autoral, com composições, melodias e arranjos belíssimos, sonoridade de Choro com uma formação de certa forma incomum, com baixo, bateria e pandeiro apoiando piano/órgão, cordas e metais.

[English] Laércio de Freitas is a pianist, keyboardist, conductor and composer from Campinas, São Paulo state. He is a very important musician in Brazilian society since the early 1960s, he is most recognized for his talent as an arranger and conductor of numerous projects and national artists. Laércio's albuns production is not so expressive, there are five albums between 1972 and 2006. Among these, it is important to mention the Choro style album "São Paulo no Balanço do Choro" from 1980 posted in this article. It is an original LP that the blogger keeps with love in his private collection, it is totally authorial album with compositions, melodies and beautiful arrangements, it is a Choro sound with formation in a unusual way with bass, drums and tambourine supporting piano / organ, strings and brass.

[Português] Nesta postagem, em continuidade ao tema anterior, mais um talento contemporâneo da música afro cubana. Desta vez o tecladista e compositor cubano Manuel Valera, com seus dois discos do projeto New Cuban Express. Palavras de um dos álbuns "é um trabalhos fortemente influenciados pelos experimentos de artistas cubanos das décadas de 1970 e 1980 como Emilio Salvador e os grupos Irakere e AfroCuba, misturando elementos do jazz, R&B, fusion e funk com os estilos musicais cubanos". Acompanham Valera músicos, da mesma forma, muito talentosos e dispostos a inovações. O disco Expectativas de 2013 foi indicado ao Grammy, fato este que contribuiu significativamente para a maior difusão desse projeto internacionalmente. 

[English] In this post, in continuity with the previous theme, more one contemporary talent of Afro Cuban music. In this time the keyboardist and Cuban composer Manuel Valera, with its two albuns of New Cuban Express project. Words of one of the albums "is strongly influenced by the experiments works of Cuban artists of the 1970s and 1980s as Emilio Salvador, and Irakere and Afrocuba groups, mixing elements of jazz, R&B, funk and fusion with the Cuban musical styles". Valera is accompanied by musicians, likewise, very talented and willing to innovations. The album Expectativas from 2013 was Grammy nominated, fact that contributing significantly to the wider dissemination of this project internationally.

Produto da conexão entre diversos músicos jovens e talentos, Ralph Irizarry experiente percussionista da cena porto riquenha do jazz latino de Nova Iorque, e Timbalaye com presenças como Roberto Quintero, Luis Perdomo e Alex Norris, Bob Franceschini, Waldo Chavez, Ozzie Melendez e vários outros, além de participações importantes como Giovanni Hidalgo e Dave Valentin. 

[English] These two albums are great works of Ralph Irizarry & Timbalaye, produced more than fifteen years ago, a Latin jazz with a wonderful instrumental balance, powerful, rhythmic and colorful in complex arrangements, deserves to be reviewed and included in the discography of the genre lovers. Product connection between various talents young musicians, Ralph Irizarry experienced percussionist of the Puerto Rican scene of Latin jazz of New York, and Timbalaye with  presences as Roberto Quintero, Luis Perdomo and Alex Norris, Bob Franceschini, Waldo Chavez, Ozzie Melendez and several others, as well with special guests as Giovanni Hidalgo and Dave Valentin.

[Português] O blog aproveita o momento do final do ano para prestar uma homenagem ao grande músico Horace Silver falecido em 18 de junho passado aos 85 anos. Artista único, dono de um estilo muito próprio no piano, deixou um excelente legado discográfico, com 58 álbuns entre 1950 e 1998. Durante todos esses anos teve como seu principal estúdio o selo Blue Note onde gravou 32 álbuns, como líder ou como membro de grupos, acompanhando nomes como Stan Getz, Lou Donaldson, Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Howard McGhee, Al Cohn, Kenny Dorham, Art Farmer, Miles Davis entre outros. Alem da Blue Note, passou por diversas outras gravadoras como a Emerald, Silveto, Bop City, Columbia, Verve, Impulse, Spotlite, Storyville, Savoy, Prestige e Landmark. Horace Silver foi um músico surgido e desenvolvido em plenas evoluções do jazz entre os anos de 1940 e 50, teve a sua alma musical moldada dentro do bebop e hardbop com uma sonoridade d blues. Mas atento as mudanças que foram ocorrendo, definiu seu estilo com influências também do post-bop, mainstream jazz, modal jazz, soul jazz and jazz fusion, african music and latin music.

Nesta postagem estão os três últimos albuns de Horace Silver, todos gravados em estúdio, "The HardBop GrandPop" de 1996 e "A Prescription For The Blues" de 1997 pela Impulse, e "Jazz Has A Sense Of Humor" de 1998 pela Verve. Discos com gravações originais digitais, com excelentes bandas e fieis a pulsação forte e alegre do jazz feito por Horance Silver. 

[English] The blog seizes the moment of the end of the year to make tribute for the great musician Horace Silver died in the last June 18 with 85 years old. An only artist who owns a very unique style on the piano left a great discography legacy with 58 released albuns between 1950 and 1998. During all these years he had his main studio the Blue Note label where he recorded 32 albuns as a leader or as a member of groups as Stan Getz, Lou Donaldson, Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Howard McGhee, Al Cohn, Kenny Dorham, Art Farmer, Miles Davis and others. Besides the Blue Note, he went through several others labels such as Emerald, Silveto, Bop City, Columbia, Verve, Impulse, Spotlite, Storyville, Savoy, Prestige and Landmark. Horace Silver was a musician emerged and developed in full jazz developments between the years 1940 and 50, he had his musical soul molded into the Be Bop and Hard Bop in a very Blues sound, but he was alert the changes that occurred set their style with influences of hard bop, post-bop, mainstream jazz, modal jazz, soul jazz and fusion jazz, african music and latin music.

In this post there are the last three Horace Silver's albums, all recorded in the studio "The HardBop Grandpop" 1996 and "A Prescription For The Blues" 1997 by Impulse label, and "Jazz Has A Sense Of Humor" 1998 by Verve label. They are albuns original in digital record (the last fase of Silver) with great bands and faithful to strong and cheerful pulse Jazz made by Horance Silver.
